Never received the item as the vendor cancelled the order without explanation. Very disappointed!
Awesome guitar! June 13, 2010 Miguel A. Gonzalez (Houston) Wow, what a great bundle for the price. The guitar looks even better than the pictures here on Amazon! I impressed my girl with it, even though I am not that good of a player yet! Guitars do bring in the chicks! The little amp is that comes with the pack is great for a basic sound. It is loud enough to play your own little gig in a small room too. I can't wait to start playing it well. It taked a lot of practice, so if you are a person that loses interest in things easily, don't bother picking up a guitar, you need PATIENCE and DEDICATION. The strings it comes with are cheap, so buy some better ones. They snaped with a week's play, but I was playing about 5-6 hours a day. Strings are cheap, so it is no big deal.
Good But...... June 9, 2010 Kenneth Gilkenson (Wittenberg, Wisconsin) I got this guitar as a christmas present 1/2 a year ago I think this guitar as pretty good sound for a cheap $200 guitar. Anyyway the only reason I gave this guitar a 4 star is because the strap sucks. I put ducktape over the strap and it still fell off every 5 seconds. So if you want this guitar to be perfect you're gonna have to go spend about $20 more on strap locks. I liked that this guitar came with everything you needed to play a guitar so you didn't just get a guitar and need to spend like $150 to get everything you need to play a guitar.
this guitar includes:
fender starcaster
gig bag
strap(that sucks)
tuner
extra strings
practice dvd (good idea to write the notes from the dvd on to a notebook)
3 picks
10-watt amplifier
well that's my review
(p.s. if you all ready have a guitar don't by this guitar because this definintly a begginer guitar)
Great Fender Guitar April 19, 2010 R. Gilbert (Illinois, USA) Beautiful guitar. My 12-year old son truly enjoys it and his 23-year old brother even sneaks some time on it. It has been outstanding for the price! The amp is enough to get comments on "turn it down," and he even takes it outside to enjoy it louder. He has two acoustic guitars and this is his first electric guitar for only a reasonable investment. He now enjoys taking it to lessons and even the instructor wanted to play it! Highly recommended for a beginner.
Not sure what happened... March 13, 2010 Scott Brenneman (Raleigh, NC) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this guitar about a week ago. At first, I was very pleased. The price was great, given all that you get in this kit. The guitar sounded great, especially in overdrive mode on the amp. About two days ago, the guitar started sounding worse. Now it sounds terrible. I'm not sure why.
I took it to Guitar Center, and plugged it into some of their high-priced amps. It sounded better, but still off. It's a mystery at this point. I will try to salvage it somehow.
*Update*
I have tried adjusting the tremolo screws to get a better tone from the guitar. I was surprised at how easy they are to turn. It seems they will turn themselves over time just from the strings vibrating. I can't seem to fix it. I admit I'm a newbie to electric guitars. I'm sure there is some way to get the guitar to sound good, but I'm no expert, so I don't know how. I also don't want to pay others to fix it, especially given how fast it went bad. I don't recommend this guitar unless you are an expert at adjusting electric guitars and can fix these issues yourself easily.
