3 out of 5 stars Cheap but has a niche   September 9, 2010
Keith Dickens
There are actually two things that I like about this guitar that I didn't realize at first that makes me glad I didn't review it right away or I might have only given it 2 stars.

One, If you want a guitar you can play in less than desirable conditions, such as really moist or, well, full out raining...this is not a bad option...it has great tone and was cheap enough that if I scratch it up or totally destroy it, its no big deal...in fact I might buy more just for that reason.

Two, it doesn't look exactly like the picture. The striping you see is nearly invisible to the naked eye...but in stage light, neon, or dark lights those stripes come out and you get a weird effect that makes it look like the guitar body is like an infinite hole.

If you are already a great player and looking for primary practice guitar, this ain't it. The construction just isn't on par with where it should be and Dean shouldn't try to market it that way. If you are new to guitar, I would suggest buying something a little better to get started on..DON'T USE JUNK TO LEARN!!! (That's general advice, I'm not saying this guitar is junk.)

let gust start but saying, im am not a guy who mack the big $$ by selling stuff, that i never buy stuff on here im always nervise that somthings going to go wrong. (its just my luke)i was looking for an awsome guriter to lirn how to play, as a drummer i have no clue what to look for. i looked around and this was by far the best price and looked nice on my wall and thats what i was looking for. i was also told if swopout the pickups i could see it for more( it is true!!!!) But its a grat sound with out new pickups, you can still play your rock to a jazzy pop sound, and my buddy plays country with it (i hat country but it still sounds good)

first off !@#$ the seller your not getting the guitar you see just like previouse reviews ....... plus it was packaged horribly what the seller was thinking was messed up to send a guitar in a not even half cardboard paper like box that was the exact size of the guitar not even square is beyond me .......

no wonder i received my guitar broken the wood where the switch was was pushed in and cracked all the wood around it since the box was not strong enough to support the esmallest of weight

tho the guitar was in playable condition i did like the sound and i was already wanting to make a custom guitar so i sanded the gar down super glued the wood together used a sa to design the body design painted and wrote lyrics on the guitar and then put it back together after all in all of $300 and a months worth of work its a bute ... the guitar is nice for the price dont gett me wrong thats where the 3 stars is coming from ....

the seller tho is !@#$%^ trash

4 out of 5 stars good for price   December 18, 2008

i bought this guitar from a catalog. when i first got i was not to happy. the finish is plastic. but then i started to play it and it sounded pretty good. i played it through a digitech rp 90. and a peavey 112. i was then happy with the results. at first i was going to return it to musicians friend. because i did not like plastic encased body. but it sounds good for the price. also its good looking guitar. i bought it to practice on, so i can keep my more exspensive guitars preserved. the pickups on it are very good. overall its not bad for a backup guitar. a good guitar to practice on thats all you really need is something like this guitar.

I was shocked at the price that this model was being sold for. I added EMG pickups on the neck and bridge of this light weight power house. It plays equal to my Schecter which cost me over seven hundred dollars. I will buy out the supply that is left within Amazon and Musicians friend and duplicate and sell the same guitar that I have made out of this solid performer.
