Great Beginners Package Deal June 13, 2010 Dr. Ls Headding (San Francisco Bay Area) I bought this for my nine year old granddaughter. When I had a professional base guitarist tune it for me I was informed that I'd purchased quite a good deal considering what I'd paid and that this quitar would do quite well for a beginner player. I've seen the exact same quitar sets for twice the price in stores, a few even highter than that. Now the real pricey part is going to be all of those lessons I'm going to have to pay for so that she can be the "rock star" that she now dreams of rather than the "doctor" that her grandmother wants her to become.
Good Beginner Set March 18, 2010 AlabasterSong (Huntsville, AL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son actually purchased this item himself. He loves playing and had an acoustic to start with. It is a decent starter guitar and the little amplifier makes it easy to carry around.
A real piece of junk March 1, 2010 Gordon A. Stamper (Richmond Heights, OH USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Don't waste your money as the guitar would not tune. Contacted seller Austin Bazaar and they sent me a RMA but will not reimburse the $18.85 shipping to return the item. Bought this for my grandson and my son who has been playing guitars for 20 years could not tune this junk. Also, still waiting for credit for full cost of this so-called merchandise. Have filed a claim with Amazon under their A-Z program but heard nothing so far. This is a big headache and suggest you not buy this item and save yourself from the trouble. I can only hope since I am a regular customer that Amazon will honor my claim and reimburse me the $18.85. Will update everyone later after this is resolved. Can't believe any of the good reviews and wonder what those folks were smoking or if they ever played even a half-way decent beginners guitar. The price should have warned me but...
Cheap December 4, 2009 J. Faulkner (San Antonio, TX United States) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bought this a couple of years ago for my son (age 5 at the time). It's heavy and cheaply made. When he was actually ready for lessons, the instructor couldn't get it to tune correctly. I am not a guitar player, so I cannot describe what was wrong, but something about the bridge and neck that would need some work in order to get it in playing shape. I wound up buying a Fender starter that was more, but so far worth it....
Great Guitar! August 7, 2009 H. Lopez (Chicago, IL USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic guitar kit. It's a very good quality guitar and easy to play. I found the strings a little bit tougher to press down when compared to other guitars. I loved the amp, it's small and lightweight but very loud, especially when you turn on the overdrive. And another thing, it shipped very quickly, amazon estimated a week, but it got here within 3 days of placing my order. I recommend you start with this guitar.
