Solid, well-built starter guitar March 9, 2010 Michael A. Duvernois (Minneapolis, MN United States) Good for the money is the obvious refrain, but this is also a solid, well-built guitar. The amp is plenty loud enough to annoy the neighbors when you practice. A nice kit for starting out. Later on you can decide whether you're going to stick with it and get something nicer, or whether it was a temporary pastime. And remember, if you (or the kids) stop using it, it's still worth a good fraction of the new price at a garage sale. There are always folks buying their first guitar kit.
A great starter guitar February 20, 2010 Raven Lee Pardue (San Francisco, CA) This is a great starter electric guitar kit. You could easily spend a lot more time & money at the local music store, buying the same equipment. I'm no pro but you can really learn and build up from this very basic kit.
My only complaint is that it seems to need constant tuning and the tremolo bar isn't great and seems to add to the need for constant tuning. But if you know how to tune a guitar easily, it's not much of a problem.
I'd recommend this kit to anyone else looking to learn how to play electric guitar.
Silvertone SS11PK Guitar February 9, 2010 Debit (CLEBURNE, TX, US) After deciding to go with Amazon.com for my purchase of the Silvertone guitar package I was amazed at how soon it arrived. Product & contents were well packaged. This is very good starter guitar for any beginner. In the second week I broke a string but the DVD shows you how to change it & re-tune. For the beginner this guitar & package has everything needed. THe price & quality were a plus.
A wonderful Christmas present! December 31, 2009 M. Winn Hall 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my son who wants to learn how to play guitar. Let's just say he was quite happy on Christmas morning! He has been playing ever since and is making quite the noise! Anyway the guitar is very sturdy and looks cool. The amp is perfect for a beginner. The tuner is quite nice and the gig bag is perfect. I was also very satisfied with the quickness that the guitar came. Overall I am very pleased with my experience. I will buy another guitar thru Amazon.
SAD September 16, 2009 Dave (Mokena , ILL. USA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Received this at my office today. I brought it home all excited and ready to go at it, however ,as soon as i opened the box , disappointment.
First the gig bag is ripped in 2 places along the seams. One of the tears was at least 6 inches. ( Box arrived in good condition by the way). So i went further thinking ok cheap bag. Then i went and pluged in the cord between the amp and guitar..nothing . Found out i had to twist and bend the cord just right and to my surprise it worked. So now i need to decide if it is worth just buying a new cord and bag and writing the parts off as a lesson, or pack it up send it back and start over.
